Work performed
- Initial technological research and pictorial layer stratigraphy
- Dry surface cleaning
- Removal of darkened varnish and local old retouches and overpainting
- Removal of the Cordovan leather from the old support
- Application of strip-lining
- Stretching the Cordovan onto a new aluminum (honey-comb) support using so-called Dutch tensioning
- Retouching of the Cordovan gilding (mica pigments, loose pigments, Aquazol® in ethanol)
- Retouching of the paint layer and local reconstructions of the painted motif (pigments, Aquazol® in ethanol)
- Final varnish Paraloid® B72
- Installation of elements in situ
